Sinugba (pronounced see-noog-bah) is the Visayan term for “grilled” or “barbecued” food in the Philippines. It refers to any kind of meat, seafood, or even vegetables that are seasoned or marinated, then grilled over hot charcoal.
It’s the Bisaya counterpart of the Tagalog “ihaw” — so in Davao and other parts of Mindanao and the Visayas, when people say “magsinugba ta”, it means “let’s have a grill-out”.
