Tapsilog is a classic Filipino “silog” meal, a type of rice plate that combines three components:
Tapa — thinly sliced, marinated, and fried beef (sometimes pork or chicken). The marinade typically includes soy sauce, calamansi or lemon, garlic, sugar, and black pepper.
Sinangag — garlic fried rice.
Itlog — a sunny-side-up or fried egg.
The name Tapsilog comes from combining those three words: Tapa + Sinangag + Itlog = Tapsilog
